Sam’s love for street dance began in the Philippines at just 7 years old and continued to grow after immigrating to Canada, where she immersed herself in Calgary’s street dance scene by her Grade 10 year. She trained and performed with her high school street dance team Alpha 1, later joining the all-styles crew Blasé, where she explored multiple street styles, performed across Calgary, and gained experience in battle culture.

Her dedication and growth led her to receive a two-year pre-professional scholarship with Pulse Studios’ Gateway Program, where she further refined her foundation and artistry. Today, Sam is a member of Metamorphasis, an all-styles crew rooted primarily in hip hop, traveling across North America to compete, train, and push creative boundaries.

Beyond performance, Sam is deeply committed to using dance as a tool for impact. She founded The Impact Initiative, a local collective of dancers dedicated to giving back to the community and supporting organizations that uplift marginalized groups. Through movement, collaboration, and community action, the initiative aims to create meaningful change. Their most recent project raised $1,150 CAD (49,371 PHP) to support typhoon survivors in Cebu, Philippines, providing non-perishable food and essential aid to those affected.

At the heart of Sam’s work is a belief that dance is more than movement  it’s a powerful way to connect, uplift, and give back.
