We believe dance, music, and the arts are about more than learning choreography. Our programs are designed to help young artists develop their own voice, build confidence, learn how to collaborate, and discover how to create.

We use choreography and freestyle together because both are essential to becoming a well rounded artist.

Choreography develops discipline, musicality, memory, teamwork, precision, performance quality, and the ability to bring a creative vision to life.

Freestyle develops creativity, individuality, musicality, confidence, movement vocabulary, and the ability to make choices in the moment.

Our goal is not to create dancers who all move the same. Our goal is to help artists understand their foundations, explore different styles, find their own voice, and become confident enough to use it.

WHAT IS A DANCE CREW?

A dance crew is more than a group of dancers who perform together. It is a team of artists who train together, create together, support one another, and grow together.

Crew training develops teamwork, musicality, performance skills, freestyle, battle skills, confidence, and a strong sense of community.

Dancers learn how to contribute as individuals while understanding how their movement, energy, and choices affect the entire group.

WHAT IS A DANCE COMPETITION?

Dance competitions give dancers the opportunity to take what they have learned in the studio and put it into action.

Depending on the competition, dancers may participate in group choreography, small groups, duos, trios, solos, battles, or other performance formats.

Competition training teaches dancers how to prepare, rehearse, perform under pressure, receive feedback, work as a team, and continue growing after the performance is over.

The goal is not simply winning a trophy. Competition is another opportunity to develop confidence, discipline, resilience, performance skills, teamwork, and artistic identity.

WHAT GOES INTO MAKING A MUSIC VIDEO OR DANCE FILM?

A music video or dance film is a collaborative creative project that brings multiple art forms together.

Music

Writing, producing, recording, and performing original music.

Dance

Creating choreography, developing movement, freestyling, rehearsing, and performing.

Acting

Developing characters, telling a story, working with a camera, and communicating emotion.

Spoken Word

Using poetry, storytelling, and spoken performance to add another layer to the creative project.

Street Art

Using visual art, design, murals, lettering, and other creative elements to help create the world of the project.

Production

Developing the concept, planning locations, costumes and sets, filming, directing, editing, and creating the final production.

The result is an opportunity for students to experience what it is like to be part of a real creative production where different artists and disciplines come together.

WHY THESE PROGRAMS MATTER

These programs give young artists opportunities to train, create, collaborate, perform, and compete.

A dancer might learn choreography, freestyle in a battle, perform with a crew, appear in a music video, collaborate with musicians, and explore acting or spoken word.

A musician might write a song, record it, collaborate with dancers, perform live, and become part of a visual production.

An artist interested in street art might contribute visual elements to a production and see their artwork become part of a larger creative vision.
