Angellyn is a co-director and co-founder of The Masses, a dance collective and performance group based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Her beginnings in dance started out at the young age of 3, learning studio dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and more. Into Angellyn’s late teen years and into her adulthood, her focus has shifted towards various street dance styles such as Hip Hop as well as House and Afro (mainly Ndombolo) as well as taking a larger role in the realm of choreography and personalized movement.

On top of directing and training with The Masses, Angellyn currently trains under Hip Hop OG, Sho Tyme, and his intensive training program S.O.D which stands for “Students of Dance”. This training has allowed her to hone in on her love of the dance and get a comprehensive form of training over the past few years. In addition to her training, Angellyn has had the opportunity to dance and artistically direct for The Masses, many local high schools, andlocal Calgary artists such as Q-Benjamin and HART.

Angellyn’s pursuit of dance has allowed her to share her love of the dance across national and international borders. She has participated in various conventions and intensives such as R2D Canada, Rise Dance Camp in Mexico City, Monsters, as well as training in L.A. She has also had the gracious opportunity to teach across both national and international borders, holding pop-up classes in Edmonton, Toronto, Winnipeg, Doha, Qatar, and Mexico City. In 2025, Angellyn also became a choreographer for the charity organization, Outside Looking In or OLI, which brings dance programming to schools in various Indigenous reserves in Canada while also encouraging students to advance and complete their educational years. Angellyn’s main goal with dance has always been to provide a community for all dancers new, old, and returning. She not only aims at showing individuals the pursuit of dance for the right reasons can be rewarding within itself but that as a woman such a journey in leadership can be achieved.
